Gexiang Zhang
Prof. Gexiang Zhang is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. He currently serves as Dean of the School of Automation and Director of the Institute of Autonomous Intelligent Technology and Systems at Chengdu University of Information Technology. He is an expert receiving the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, an IET Fellow, an IEEE Senior Member, a recipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education, an Academic and Technical Leader of Sichuan Province, a Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation under the Tianfu Qingcheng Plan, a recipient of the Sichuan Provincial Outstanding Young Academic Leader Training Fund, an "Airport Talent" of Shuangliu District, Chengdu, and President of the International Membrane Computing Society. He has been selected for the Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list and the World's Top 2% Scientists list for several consecutive years. In 2019, he received the Grigore Moisil Award from the Romanian Academy. According to a special report on the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, he was the first Chinese scholar to receive an award from the Romanian Academy as the first author, and also the first Chinese scholar to receive the Grigore Moisil Award. He has received numerous scientific and technological awards, including the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Promotion Award, the Second Prize of the Sichuan Provincial Natural Science Award, the Second and Third Prizes of the Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation and the Outstanding Contribution Award from the China Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology Industrialization, and the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Instrument and Control Society. He has led five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as dozens of other national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects. He has published three English monographs and one Chinese monograph, authored more than 160 SCI-indexed papers, and obtained two authorized U.S. invention patents and more than 60 authorized Chinese invention patents. Prof. Zhang serves as Executive Editor-in-Chief of the international journal JMC, and as an editorial board member of Axioms, IJPEDS, PPL, and SNCS. He has also served as Guest Editor-in-Chief or editorial board member for several international SCI journals, including IJNS and IJUC. In addition, he has served as Chair, Program Committee Chair, or Technical Committee Chair for dozens of international conferences.
